Red Tractor Organic White Quinoa (pronounced keen-wah) seeds are sourced from the Andean region of South America where they have been grown for thousands of years. It is a grain that can be substituted for rice or can be compared to couscous.
Quinoa contains all nine essential amino acids with the added benefit of being gluten free. Try it in salads, as a porridge or a simple accompaniment to a main meal. It is simple to prepare.
As an accompaniment to a main meal, simply place three quarters of a cup of Red tractor quinoa and one and a half cups of cold water in a saucepan over high heat.
Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 10 to 12 minutes or until water has absorbed. Drain and rinse with warm water. Transfer to a bowl and serve.
