Brewing Instructions:
Feel free to create your own brewing style or follow these simple steps to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee:
Grind the coffee beans to a size appropriate for your brewing equipment.
Start by preheating the phin filter. Place the phin on a cup and pour boiling water into the filter. Allow the water to drain completely, then discard it. (This step helps both to preheat and to clean the filter, ensuring that leftover coffee from previous brews does not affect the flavor.)
After adding the coffee grounds into the phin, gently shake it to level the surface. This helps prevent coffee grounds from falling into the cup due to overly fine grind size or large filter holes.
Pour a small amount of boiling water into the phin and wait for the coffee to "bloom." Then, slowly add about 30–40ml of boiling water in a spiral motion from the center outward. Cover the filter and let the coffee bloom for 2 minutes.
(It’s best to use a kettle with a narrow spout to pour steadily without disturbing the coffee bed.)
After blooming, press down the coffee gently with the filter press (lưỡi gà).
Pour another 45–60ml of boiling water into the phin in a spiral motion, then cover the filter.
Add sugar, condensed milk, and ice according to your taste, and enjoy.
