Markal was created in 1936 in Valence, a quiet little town on the Rhône, when the company’s founder, Georges Markarian, began producing bulgur as a means of sharing his values and origins. Today the company is led by brothers Franck and Olivier, the third generation of the Markarian family to take the reins, and it is their driving ambition to grow the family business.
